My only complain with this is that it probably should be longer. The fact that it is just a novella means that various stages of the romance seem a bit rushed/skimpy and they would benefit from a few more pages of exposition. However this is not a major complaint about the story or the writing, which is overall excellent.Product details

Winter Into Spring A Romance Novella edition by Nitay Arbel Karen Folques Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
I obtained this book through the Unlimited program.
There are several reasons I awarded this book five stars, even though romance isn't my wheelhouse. It's a gentle book, with no exploding spaceships (which are my favorite), a sweet but not goopy story about two people who discover love.
It's also a book which takes extended family seriously. Any adult knows that REAL romance had better take the Others into consideration, or at best you get some mildly pleasant dating experiences.
It also treats the matter of religious faith seriously, managing to take that aspect of each partner's life into consideration and incorporating it into their story.
Ronnie, the female lead, is in all ways a real person, manifested primarily in the fact that she is not built like a supermodel. She's much more a Ruben's figure than the stick art seen on TV. Zaftig; voluptuous these are the words that lovers of women with this kind of figure have used to describe them. I am TOTALLY on board with this concept!
And finally, something that is near and dear to my heart Ronnie and Marc are fully grown adults, who have both been burned by life, and who have a pretty good idea of what they want in a relationship. That is most definitely NOT the dynamic of jumping in bed with every person who comes along! That enterprise is limited, I believe, to the very young who are still looking for ways to have their hearts broken and their lives ruined. Instead, because of the experiences they have had in the past, and the longing in their hearts, they are both ready to commit to a long-term relationship very quickly. That doesn't lessen the significance of the relationship in the slightest; and their commitment doesn't mean that they get married the same weekend. It just means they agree to -BE- with each other, and to have a fixed date for the proposal to take place. This can ONLY happen with two people who both know what it is they are looking for in a mate, and recognize that in each other. It's a real thing.
This is one of those sappy, corny fun little romance stories that was a joy to read. Well written, well paced and read in only a few hours. I recommend it.
A nice novella that hits all the right emotional notes. Real people in a contemporary setting. I highly enjoyed the story.
I enjoyed reading it. I could easily see it becoming the basis for a longer version. It did seem a bit too quick and I think I would have liked having more time to get to know the characters.
Make yourself a cuppa, curl up in your favorite chair with a afghan and forget whatever your worries are.
Maybe hot chocolate instead of tea?
My only complain with this is that it probably should be longer. The fact that it is just a novella means that various stages of the romance seem a bit rushed/skimpy and they would benefit from a few more pages of exposition.
